How to Port Your Existing Mobile Number to Airtel Prepaid? Here's the details, Check now

It offers easy recharge and bill payment options through its native Airtel Thanks app also through third party applications like Google pay, PhonePe and Paytm. All of this makes Airtel a competitive option to see if you are in the market so that you can port your existing number to airtel.

Like any telecom operator in the country, Airtel offers porting on both its postpaid and prepaid services. To start a mobile number portability (MNP) service, you need a valid proof of identity and address such as a passport, driving license, voter ID card, ration card, or photo credit card.

In this article, we give a step-by-step guide to help you port your existing mobile number to Airtel prepaid services. The process takes 48 hours to port same state, while the inter-circle port-in may take up to four days.  For the people of  J&K and NESA the porting process is take for upto 15 days.

How to port your mobile number to Airtel prepaid

Before beginning the Airtel MNP process, you need to keep your address and ID proofs in your hands. also be required to pay a Rs. 100 delivery fee to an Airtel executive who delivering your SIM.

Additionally, it is important to note that porting to Airtel will not carry forward your existing available balance. This means that your current balance will be forfeited once you switch you to Airtel.

Following are the steps to port your mobile number to Airtel prepaid.

  1. First of all Visit the Airtel official website and then pick a recharge plan with which you want to get started with the new operator.
  2. Scroll down, You'll then see a small form asking for your name, mobile number, and location. You'll also be required to enter your house number and street name for getting doorstep know-your-customer (KYC) validation.
  3. Now, Click on Yes option if you want to port your number
  4. Now, click the Submit button.
  5. You will now get a call to schedule an appointment for your SIM delivery.

Make sure you generate the UPC code in presence of airtel executive. To generate your unique porting code or UPC, Type SMS "PORT <space> 99XXXXXX17" and send it to 1900. You will receive the code via SMS from 1901 within 5 minutes. Since the code is valid only for 4 days,

Note: UPC validity for J&K, NESA will be 30 days.

In case if you don't want to go with online process and not paying Rs.100, then you can visit any locals Airtel store with your address and ID proofs and mobile phone to port your connection. You can locate your nearest Airtel store from the operator's site.

Airtel has provided the option to track MNP progress or status using the Airtel Thanks app. You can sign in on the app using your port-in number.

It lets you track your progress live on the home screen and allows you to activate the new SIM upon its delivery. The airtel thanks app is available for download on both Android and iOS devices.
