How can you improve the Range of Jio, Airtel, Vodafone Idea network Signal?

As there are no prior alerts as to where we might lose network connection, we are usually unprepared for it. Many of the times, we manage to get connected again in a few attempts, but there are also occasions, when the phone cannot connect to the network or out of range.

Such situations get worse in dead zones when there is an emergency phone call to make or an important message to receive.

How can you improve the Range of Jio, Airtel, Vodafone Idea network Signal?

Waiting too many time for website to load? WhatsApp message stuck? Fast loading photos on instagram? We were all there. It gets frustrating and you wonder if your smartphone is too old for these, even if you bought it a week ago.

The truth is that often it is your mobile network to blame you or your phone. If your mobile network is slowing you down, you can increase your mobile's data speed and signal strength with these simple tips.

Toggle airplane mode

The easiest way to increase the speed and signal strength of your mobile is airplane mode. When you turn on airplane mode, your smartphone kills all wireless signals from your device.

On Android, simply scroll down or up and tap on the airplane icon. On iPhones, open Control Center and tap on the airplane mode icon.

Restart your phone

Restarting your phone is another common method to solve a variety of problems, including mobile data and network issues. This method is also useful when simply toggling airplane mode does not work.

Check network settings

Despite carriers like Jio and Airtel offering pan-India 4G LTE coverage, some areas may still have spotty coverage. This might result in slow mobile data and weak signal strength issues.

To resolve this, you can try checking your phone’s network settings.

  • Open Settings -> Wi-Fi & Internet -> SIM & network.
  • Here, check the Preferred Network Type option.

It is recommended to keep this setting at “2G/3G/4G”. If it does not help, try selecting “2G/3G” if your service provider supports it.

Reset network settings

Another new solution to network range issues is simply reset network settings. I had this issue recently and a simple reset of network settings solved the problem.

  1. Open Settings ➡️ System ➡️Reset options.
  2. Tap on Reset Wi-Fi, Mobile data and Bluetooth.
  3. Tap on Reset Settings and confirm it.

Check the SIM card for damage

A partially if damaged SIM card can also be the reason behind your network range problems.

  1. Using the SIM Ejector tool, open the SIM card tray included in your phone's box.
  2. Check if there is any dust in the SIM card or SIM card tray. Clean these two and insert the SIM card in the phone.
  3. If you see a broken line or rust on a metal strip, you may need to replace your SIM card.

Contact your service provider

If that doesn't help, you need to contact your service provider. The problem may be due to a fault in the local mobile tower or cabling. Service providers usually send a technician to your area to diagnose the problem.
