IPL 2021 Formats

League Stage: Double round-robin format where each team will meet all other teams twice. At the end of the league stage, the top four teams in the final points table will advance for the playoffs.

Playoffs

Qualifier 1: The final points table topper will face the second positioned team in the same points table. The winners of this match will directly qualify for the final of this tournament. Meanwhile, the losers of this match will wait for Qualifier 2.

Eliminator: The third and fourth positioned teams in the final points table will meet in this round. The winners of this match will advance for Qualifier 2 while the losers of this match will say goodbye to this tournament.

Qualifier 2: The winners of the Eliminator will face the losers of Qualifier 1 will meet in this knock-out match. The winners of this game will qualify for the final and the losers of this match will end their journey in this competition.

Final: The winners of Qualifier 1 and Qualifier 2 will face each other in this final. While the winners of this match will win the trophy of this tournament, the losers of this game will end this tournament as the runners-up.
